Nouvelle grosse sensation heavy-thrash-power-metal de cette automnale rentrée, inclinons -nous devant THE RITUAL (signé chez  Bakerteam Records filiale de la très éstimée maison-mère Scarlet Records) créé en 2002 par Marco Obice and Luca De Vito, aspirant à mixer diverses influences au sein de leur entité musicale, thrash Métal incisif relevé d'une haute dose de melodies "core", se positionnant par là comme un Trivium plus hargneux ou encore un Sonic Syndicate moins pubère, moins fashion en somme.

Après une premiére  démo realisee en 2008, voici le resultat concocté par les 2 amis d'enfance rejoints entre-temps par le batteur Luca De Vito et Marco Pastorino aux lead guitares et choeurs.

De prime abord, "musique de jeunes..."

Donc un doute me concernant, vais-je supporter atermoiements "Metalcoreux" et autres deflagrations soniques épileptiques (il n'y a qu'un seul DragonForce, et tant mieux...) dans un brouhaha sonore à la limite de l'overdose stereophonique où vais-je dans un accès de clémence  donner une chance à ce jeune gang affamé...?

Aprés moults ecoutes attentives, c'est quand il se fait plus tranchant ("Shoot Me" et ses solis en toiles d'araignée), quand il assêne ses ryhmiques meurtrières ("Show me What You can Do", un single en puissance) que ce THE RITUAL sait me / nous plaire. "Jason On The River" et son refrain imparable, le suave "Together" (A7X n'est pas loin) ou "The Liar", plus Metallica dans l'âme avec ces solis qui tricotent un escalier pour le ciel, juste quelques notes de piano, quelques discrets claviers et des vocaux convaincants finissent d'eriger cette sympathique pyramide metallique. L'ajout non négligeable de l'electrique architecte volubile Marco Pastorino (de chez les talentueux Secret Sphere) est assurement la cerise sur le gateau tant ses demonstrations gorgées de feeling tirent vers le haut l'entreprise.

Gros travail de production dans les Authoma Studios de Federico Pennazzato (Secret Sphere, Sadist...), mastered par Simone Mularoni (DGM...), ce premier album des italiens, sous une tres belle pochette (Nerve Design :  Nile, Vision Divine etc...), même si il ne revolutionne pas la scêne et s'adressera à une plus jeune audience affamée de nouveautés branchées (grand Dieu, où sont donc passés mes 20 ans...?), arrive a nous interesser suffisamment pour le conseiller aux fans de Brainstorm, Mendeed, Avenged Sevenfold, Firewind et Artillery : du très bon son, quoi !

Ceci n'est pas un testament mais bien une promesse d'espoir :

Au-delà du fragile horizon, il y a un Avenir.

Big sensation of heavy-thrash-power-metal for this retracted autumn, bow -  and here before us THE RITUAL (signed Bakerteam Records, a subsidiary of the very estimated mother-house Scarlet Records) formed in 2002 by Marco Obice and Luca De Vito, aspiring to mix various influences in their music entity, thrash metal, with an incisive statement of high dose of “core” melodies positioning by a more aggressive Trivium or even a less pubescent Sonic Syndicate, fashion in sum. After the first demo made in 2008, here is the concocted result by the 2 childhood friends, meanwhile joined by drummer Vito Luca and Marco Pastorino to the lead guitars and choirs.

…”Music for young people…”
First it made me doubt a bit, will I support Sonic “Metalcorism” procrastination and other epileptic deflagrations (there is a single DragonForce, and so much the better…) in a brouhaha sound at the limit of the stereo overdose, where am I going to access of mercy and give a chance to this young hungry gang?
After many attentive wiretappings, the album becomes more sharp to me (“Shoot Me” and its solos in cobwebs), when it kills its deadly rhythmics (“Show me What You can Do”, a power single) and I begin to believe that this band, THE RITUAL, knows me.

“Jason On The River” and its unstoppable chorus, the suave “Together” (A7X is not far away) or “The Liar”, more Metallica in the soul with these solos knit a stairway to the sky, just a few piano notes, a few discrete keyboards and the convincing voice to finish to erect this sympathetic metal pyramid.

The significant electrical addition comes by Marco Pastorino (from the talented Secret Sphere), he is certainly the icing on the cake, so much his drenched demonstrations gives the feeling to be on the top for this band.
Large production work at Authoma Studios of Federico Pennazzato (Secret Sphere, Sadist…), mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM), the result is this first album of these Italians! it’s also under a very nice package (Nerve Design: Nile, Vision Divine etc…). … even if it does not revolutionize the scenes and even if it speaks to a younger hungry audience for “wired news” (great God, where I have passed my 20 years…?), but sometimes we focus enough to advise fans of Brainstorm, Mendeed, Avenged Sevenfold, Firewind and Artillery: but hey, this album has a very very good sound!

This is not a Testament but a promise of hope:
Beyond the fragile horizon, there is a future.
